Lavender Oat Milk Latte (Printable Version)

Floral notes and creamy oat milk blend with espresso for a soothing vegan beverage, hot or iced.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Lavender Syrup

01 - 1/4 cup water
02 - 1/4 cup granulated sugar
03 - 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender buds

→ Latte

04 - 2 shots (2 oz) espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
05 - 2 cups oat milk
06 - 2–3 tablespoons lavender syrup (to taste)
07 - Ice (optional, for iced latte)

# Method:

01 - Combine water, granulated sugar, and dried lavender buds in a small saucepan, then simmer gently over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved. Continue to simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to steep for 5 minutes.
02 - Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer to remove lavender buds. Let the syrup cool completely before use.
03 - Brew two shots of espresso or prepare 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee using your preferred method.
04 - Warm oat milk in a saucepan or froth using a milk frother until hot and foamy. For an iced variation, use chilled oat milk.
05 - Pour lavender syrup into a mug or glass. Add espresso or coffee, then top with oat milk. Stir gently to incorporate.
06 - For iced lattes, add ice before combining ingredients. Finish with a sprinkle of dried lavender buds or a twist of lemon zest if desired.

# Expert Hints:

01 -
  • The floral notes are a soothing surprise and transform any morning into a mini retreat.
  • Dairy-free oat milk creates a velvety texture that pairs perfectly with the soft taste of lavender.
02 -
  • If you steep the lavender too long, the syrup becomes harsh and almost medicinal—five minutes is perfect.
  • Switching out oat milk for almond or soy can change the texture, but the floral flavor remains lovely; experiment to find your favorite.
03 -
  • Always strain the syrup thoroughly—even tiny lavender bits can make the latte gritty.
  • Add the syrup before frothing the milk for an extra creamy texture and fragrant foam.
